If you know me, you know I have a little bit of an obsession for Sunglasses! I guess it’s a bit like shoes to most other women… I see them, I want them, I buy them. I have a box full of high street treats (since it’s just not economically friendly for me to splurge on designers..yet anyway!). Saying that, every time I see the beautiful Olsen twins pictured, they are always wearing sunnies that I want to get my hands on! My latest crush has to be the pair that they have both been pictured wearing recently at New York Fashion Week, resembling the Ray-Ban design, but I actually think they might be from their own collection at their label, The Row…

Keira Knightley. Just absolutely stunning… every time I see a picture of her, I just WISH I could get my hands on her face! Every contour is just there, ready to be shaded with colour. Never one to over do the makeup with extreme styles and colours. A true beauty in my eyes with her perfectly classic style.

So after one of my writers at ESVIE.co.uk did a feature and interview with the guys at Virgos Lounge, I couldn’t help but have a nosey myself at their collection… and WOW! My New Year Promises to Myself…

I’ve made myself a few promises this New Year.

Firstly, as I’d mentioned before, I am seeking out a Hair Up course so that I can polish my skills. I am a great believer that you NEVER stop learning… especially where anything creative is concerned, because ideas and possibilities are endless. So want to grow as an artist! That means that I will be able to confidently offer hair as an option for my services as opposed to agreeing to it and panicking about it later! :D

It’s not as easy as it looks though when you don’t want to do “Hairdressing” (colouring, cutting etc) and just want a styling course, but seem to be making headway the more I speak to people and search the www (whatever did we do without it!?).

Alongside the hair promise, I’ve also promised to get “more involved” in my kit. By that, I mean getting creative on my own face. I can’t seem to pluck up the courage to create a video just yet (I physically cringe at the thought of it), but WILL happily play on my own face and take pics. So hopefully, in time, I’ll be able to blog some step by step images of how to get fancy pants with both natural/evening looks AND fashion/creative looks for fun.

So that said, I hope to get down to it this weekend while the fiance is watching his beloved team!

Happy New Year!

It’s finally 2012! A big year for me in many ways… Firstly I’ll be getting married  in September to my gorgeous man of nearly 11years (of which I literally cannot WAIT) and secondly I will become an Auntie for the 3rd time to my sisters little boy due in May. Happy days ahead I think you’ll agree.

Amongst all this excitement, I have umpteen bridal bookings, a number of tests lined up and all the other things that get planned at the last minute that tends to keep you on your toes as a makeup artist. I have also decided that it’s time I officially trained in hair styling. I’ve managed to get by thus far… but only because in a photo, you can’t see what mess I have made at the back of the head. I’m talking pins gallore and all sorts! Shhh, it’s done me well so far.

Oh and not forgetting attending London Fashion Week and developing my ESVIE.co.uk even further. So lots to keep me occupied over the year.
