The past week has been pretty hectic with various shoots and events, not to mention birthday celebrations I’ve been part of that have set me back a tad! Hay ho, I’m off to sunny Bulgaria on Friday for a week of pure relaxation! So until then, it’s business as usual.
So last week I worked on a profile shoot for actor Tom Riley ( featuring in a number of stage, film and TV dramas: Agatha Christie’s Poirot, Lost in Austen, I want Candy, St Trinians 2 and Monroe to name a few), which was so much fun. It was for IDOL Magazine, to feature on their website very soon, so we caught up with him after his rehearsals for his latest gig on stage for the production of My City at the Almeida Theatre in Islington (starting this Thursday 8th September).
Fresh off the boards, Tom came in very calm, relaxed and ready to be dapped with a spot of powder and hair tidy, before being grilled about his experiences as an actor and what he has coming up that we can all get excited about. The mini photoshoot that accompanied the interview was to show him in his raw state, not overstyled. Just a guy, that has had a long day at work and has an even brighter future ahead of him than he has already achieved. I can’t wait for it to be posted on the website, so hang tight and I’ll be sure to post it on here too! Tom was a pleasure to work with and wish him the best of luck in his latest production!
This was then followed by working on the latest Specsavers competition, “Spectacle Wearer of the Year” awards. I was called up and asked to work my magic on the 7 finalists in the Anglian region. So since it was based in my hometown store, how could I refuse!
Fronted by the beautiful Kara Tointon, entrants will be judged on their ability to showcase their chosen pair of specs, by looking as glam and confident as possible in front of the cameras. I had all of 5mins to make up and prepare the finalists for their “face off” in front of the judges.
It was a great day and wish the finalists the best of luck since the winning place not only gets two weeks in Barbados or St Lucia, but also wins a years contract with top modelling agency, MOT Models… not to mention that 2nd and 3rd place will not be disappointed with weekend trips to Paris and London along with spending money and treats to enjoy! Now that’s a competition to be part of!
Lastly, but by NO means least, was a collection shoot for designer, Emma Louise. The shoot was for her SS12 collection, that is just beautiful. The focus of the collection was “London” inspired, and specialising in print work, Emma managed to create a stunning collection using the most delicate of materials that hang beautifully your silhouette.
Working with top photographer Ruth Rose and gorgeous model, Emelie what could possibly go wrong!? Nothing, that’s what! ;) A great day and managed to shoot the collection in no time!
